What are your favorite brands and why?

I never thought I’d get to this point, yet here I am…

As we were coming out of the pandemic, something new was rising within me. I found myself being drawn to the sneaker world and I was falling in love with Chuck Taylor’s (Converse) and Jordan’s left and right. I was so happy! Full disclosure, my wallet probably wasn’t that happy but Dick’s, Nike, and other shoe stores definitely were.

Then a random cyst appeared on my foot and I spent the summer of 2023 in flip-flops. Well, no one told me that over the age of 35, wearing flip-flops with no arch support every day is a surefire way to mess up your feet. 😫 I’m my attempt to not cause a cyst to rupture, I ended up deteriorating the integrity of my feet and I now have Plantar Fasciitis.

While I will wear my occasional pair of Chucks or Jordan’s or maybe even a cute pair of flats, my current shoe of choice must have insoles and provide the utmost level of support for my feet. And if by chance I forget to roll my feet on the spikey ball by my bed or on the one in my bathroom, I throw on a pair of compression socks to ensure that my feet don’t hurt throughout the day.

So what’s my favorite brand you ask??? Well, my Plantar Fasciitis loves Hoka and Brooks, so I guess I do, too.
