Yesterday, we- me, My Love, and My Bonus Love- drove up to Western New York to spend some time away for the holiday week. This is my second Christmas with My Love and the fourth trip that we have taken as a family unit this year – this is a special trip!
Since we are deep in the throes of enjoying each other’s company and taking in the sights, I’ll be brief today (plus, I know that you have some gifts to unwrap and Mac and cheese to stir). Often, we get so caught up in the season that we forget the reason for it all. In case you forgot, here’s the reason: the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
You see, when God created this world, He created us to be in harmony with Him. Unfortunately, sin entered the world, and we needed a way to be reunited with our God. Many methods of reconciliation were attempted, but they all failed…. until Jesus. Christmas represents the time that we celebrate the birth of our Savior. It’s not about a tree or presents that may or may not be under the tree. Christmas is solely about Jesus.
Now, don’t get me wrong, there is something else that I love about Christmas – the kindness and generosity that bellows from the hearts of mankind. Maybe it’s because of Christ, or maybe it’s something else, but people are nicer and more patient during this time of year, and I love it! Yet, for some, I know that this is a difficult time of year. Some are literally burying their loved ones, while others are still healing from the loss of a loved one. Regardless of our particular situation, emotions tend to run high around this time of year, and my heart is sensitive to it all.
Beloved, wherever you are right now, no matter what season you are in right now, please take a moment to give God praise. Whether we are on a mountaintop or sitting in the deepest valley, God is still good, and we can praise Him right here.
Beloved, me Christmas wish for you is two-fold. On the one hand, I desire for you to know the love of our Lord and Savior and carry it in your heart always. On the other hand, I pray God’s peace over your life. I feel that with His love and His peace, there is nothing that you can’t accomplish.
I love you, Sweet Friend.
Be blessed.
