Just some notes…

Yesterday when it came time to compile my thoughts for today’s post, I spent three hours typing over 1,000 words…of an inconclusive idea. No matter how hard I tried, my words would not join together the way that I wanted them to and I could not get my self-proclaimed “great blog” to flow the way that I needed it to. In fact, I had tried so hard that I began to get a headache as I tried to force my brain to sew with a crochet needle (the two just don’t fit together!).

After praying and then reaching my breaking point I had realized two things: 1. Maybe God just did not want me to share that story and 2. When it is of God, it is not difficult. Wow; even after all this time on my healing journey, I still cannot fully trust God’s moves.

Because God has blessed with me employment, I tend to write my #MondayMessage blogs on Sundays and schedule the blog to post on Mondays at a certain time. With yesterday being Palm Sunday and me having so many things on my plate for the day, I rushed home at 4pm to begin my weekly meal prep and also write a post for you all to read. Meal prep went well, laundry went well, eating my dinner before my food curfew went well, but the blog did not go well. So I scraped it. I decided to start fresh. Specifically, I decided to erase my ideas and let God have His way. This is the fruit of that decision…

Random notes from an intentional God…

  1. It’s time to let go of our weight- emotional weight, that is.

Open your bibles to Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV is listed below):

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5

…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. – 1 Peter 2:24

Jesus went to the cross and bore all our sins, that through Him, we would be saved. He was freeing us from all forms of spiritual and emotional pain that would ever come our way. He was freeing us from fear, doubt, anxiety, confusion, etc. He was freeing us; He was healing us! And in healing us, He helped us let go of our weight.

  1. I can do all things through Christ, but I can do nothing without Him.

Open your bibles to Philippians 4:13 and John 1:3 (NKJV is listed below):

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. –Philippians 4:13

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. –John 1:3

God was God before there was a person to worship Him. He made every person, every animal, every place, every everything that was ever made and nothing that was made/created in this world was created without Him. The job that you have? It was created by God. The house that you have? It was created by God. The moon in the sky? The birds in the air? The fish in the sea? God, God, and God. It was all God. So if He created all things and knows all things, then why do we not run to Him to handle all things???

  1. There is a time for every emotion, but the time for joy is continual.

Open your bibles to Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV is listed below):

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, And a time to die;
A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill, And a time to heal;
A time to break down, And a time to build up;
A time to weep, And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain, And a time to lose;
A time to keep, And a time to throw away;
A time to tear, And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;
A time to love, And a time to hate;
A time of war, And a time of peace. – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. –1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Yes, there is a time for every single emotion and feeling in the world… but joy comes from the Lord and does not follow the rules of emotions. As such, we are charged to rejoice, pray, and give thanks- AT ALL TIMES. When the bills are due but there is no money? Rejoice, pray, give thanks. Boss stressing you out at work? Rejoice, pray, give thanks. Kids driving you crazy? Rejoice, pray, give thanks.

In summary…

Christ died on the cross for our sins and we are healed by Him and His sacrifice. As children of the most high God, we are able to do all things through Him who strengthens us and we realize that without Him, we are able to do nothing that is to be done. Lastly, no matter what happens to us in our lives, we will rejoice, we will pray, and we will give thanks.

Be blessed.
