What does freedom mean to you?
My mother grew up in poverty in Jamaica and was raising her four children in it, too. When presented with the opportunity, she packed her daughters up and boarded a plane to America. She didn’t know what to expect but she had faith in the possibilities that awaited her in America.
To me, freedom means possibilities. It means that opportunities exist for one to be their best and greatest self. It also means that we are not limited by what we see in front of us but that our potential lies beyond our eyes.
Freedom is everything to me.
It starts in the mind and then radiates in all that I do and am. Freedom says that my today is greater than my yesterday, and my tomorrow is greater still. Freedom says, “Don’t give up because too much is at stake.” Freedom was promised to me long before I was even born and it cannot be denied to me.
Freedom is mine and it means LIFE to me.
