New Year, New M.E. …in april

Sometimes when I don’t know what to say or do, I simply say this…
“I love You, Jesus. I worship and adore You. Just want to tell You, Lord I love You more than anything.”

Last week was the calm before the storm week of my life. No, nothing bad has happened nor am I summoning anything, but last week was my last “free” week before my busy schedule kicks into overdrive. Between my job, my additional work-adjacent roles, and my personal life, the next two months are about to be busy busy!

Whew, Jesus!

As I enter this busy season, my heart is still finding moments to just rest in the peaceful, loving arms of our Abba. …And I am praying the same for you!

Beloved, I didn’t have a lot to share today. In fact, I sat at my computer for hours, erasing multiple drafts, before I was even able to formulate these words. Yet I still chose to come before you today to just encourage you.

You see, I recognize that seasons in our lives change with time and you, too, may be entering a season that you are not 100% accustomed to. As you enter that season, I just want to remind you that you are not alone.

In fact, I want to share 3 tips for you to carry with you as you traverse this new season that God is calling you into:

  • Enter with prayer. So many of us end the new year/welcome in the new year with prayer. Many of us do this as a way of thanking God for both the old and the new, while also setting aside the things of old to make room for the new. Whatever your reason may be, this is what we do and it is a beautiful posture to maintain! Entering with prayer causes us to stop in time, not to focus on the past or future, but to be present with God in the present. This prayer is not only healing and restorative, but it is also anticipatory and full of worship.
  • Enter with praise. Again, go back to 12:00 am on New Year’s Day. At the precise moment that the clock strikes 12, people around the world can be heard cheering in the new year. Whether it be with kisses, shouting, drinking of spirited drinks, or the like, a celebration occurs as we move from one year to the next. To be honest, I’m always excited because that means that I can finally go to sleep because it is often WAAAAYYYY past my bedtime. 😀 Yet in all seriousness, entering into the new year with praise is refreshing and rejoicing because we are entering into the year with optimism. We don’t know what lies ahead of us, but we are hopeful that it’s all good things. Likewise, as we enter a new season of our lives, as Believers we know that although we don’t know what the future holds, we know Who holds our hands. We move in FAITH and our praise makes room for God’s blessings.
  • Enter with peace. Yep, I’m coming back to the New Year’s reference for this last time. You see, anyone with social media knows the obligatory and habitual post that we will see at least once. That’s right- “NEW YEAR, NEW ME!” Undoubtedly, someone has declared that in the new year, they are transforming from who they once were, to make room for this new person that they will become. To be honest, when I see this post it is always my prayer that the “new version” of this person is the final version because I never understood how one person could change so much in a mere matter of seconds between an old year and a new one. Growth is beautiful but that much “change” can’t be healthy. What I prefer to see is that post that says that the debts of the past have been wiped away and all that remains is a clean slate. For me, that is a way of having peace in a situation and releasing things of the past. Beloved, recognize that as God is moving you into this new season, we have to let go of some things by making peace with them.

For some, today is just Monday, April 15, 2024; an ordinary day, just like some others. For others, this is your reminder to file your taxes… for you know that God don’t play about His children, but the IRS also don’t play about its money. 😂 Yet for a few, today is the beginning of something new. I believe in my heart that God gave me this message- after hours of nothing being present- because we BOTH needed to hear from Him in this new season of our lives. Respectfully, sweet friend, today is our New Year’s Day. We are starting fresh in this new season and God is about to show OUT in our lives. Trust Him, brave heart; trust Him and let Him lead the way.

This is a New Year, New M.E. … in April.

Be blessed.
