Step One: Believe

I distinctly remember when God spoke to my heart on January 3, 2017 and told me to share my testimony of how He happened to M.E. I remember it because I believed that He was telling me to write a book (which I did write) but it turns out that He was also telling me to boldly declare His mercy and grace before all of the world, with no holds barred. It was probably the most terrifying action of my entire life… until April 16, 2017. That day was Resurrection Sunday and I was headed to bed so that I could get up for work the next morning. I was a few weeks removed from a car accident and pain was still radiating through my body yet that night, God would not let me rest. He spoke clearly to me as He told me to share my testimony- the story that would set me free. What He was asking seemed impossible because it meant releasing the most intimate and heavily guarded parts of my life, yet for some reason, I knew that doing what He asked would heal me.

Sweet friend, today’s #MondayMessage is intentionally brief because it comes with action on your part. Seven years ago I never could have imagined what God would do in my life if I would just trust Him to heal me from the inside out. Today I am asking you to do the same. I am asking you to sneak away to your prayer closet or pull out your journal and ask God to continue healing you. The sole purpose of this website is to promote healing for all of us, not just me. I truly believe that your presence here today is because God needs you to trust Him and release some hurt/pain that you are holding onto and He needs you to know that your healing begins today.

Whether your pain is from the death of a loved one, professional or personal rejection, depression (which is very real at this time of year), abandonment, or years of unhealed trauma, know that God has a healing with your name on it.

Say this prayer with me as you head out:
Father, hurt may have been what defined me in my past, but in You, I have been set free. Please help me to walk in the freedom that Your Son’s life, death, burial, and resurrection has given me. Today as I walk in the victory that was promised to me in Your Word, I release the victim mindset that had me bound for so long. As I continue to sing of Your works, continue to heal me, Lord. I am free in You, Lord, I am free in You; thank You for freedom. It’s in Jesus’ name that I pray, Amen.

Beloved, step one of your healing is believing that God is able.

Be blessed.
